3D scanning for industry and components

Professional optical measurement of a component required? A machine part that you need digitized as a 3D file?
Reverse engineering ( reverse engineering ) of the scan so that you can quickly continue with your project?
Whether simple or complex, individual scans or 3D laser scans of a large number of workpieces: We are experts in the 3D scanning industry. We are happy to visit you on site (within the EU) or you can send us your objects.
Express on request from 48 hours after receipt of your objects.
Optical measurement of components using 3D scan / non-contact
Our 3D services are used in many different ways, including in industrial design and production. 3D digitization of components, moulds, castings, injection-moulded parts, art objects, machine components and more. Whether very small components in the millimeter range or machines of two or even three meters. With our high-precision 3D scanners, we capture objects with an accuracy of up to 0.01 mm. The areas of application range from pure capture, quality assurance and product development to production.
3D scanning means speed with very accurate 3D scan data, rapid availability of 3D scans and, if necessary, surface data. As a service provider, this is a matter of course for us.
The procedure depends on your components. Smaller parts can simply be sent to us. For larger components that cannot be easily shipped or transported, we will be happy to measure them at your premises. Throughout Europe. Depending on your requirements and wishes, we are also happy to digitize parts of machines or machines as a whole.
After we have carried out the 3D scan, further services are available if required, such as reverse engineering, which we can also undertake for you.
By seamlessly exporting the 3D models to a variety of widely used CAD and CAM programs, we enable our customers to carry out tests for quality control or necessary measurements, and of course to obtain data for production.

Examples of 3D industrial scans
In the following 3D scan views, we would like to show you the level of detail of the 3D scans we have carried out using typical 3D scans for industry. Please note that we have already reduced the number of areas of the objects shown here online due to the file size. The files supplied by us are of course not reduced in technical 3D scans.

The items below are typical of many items that we receive from the industry for 3D scanning. Due to the geometry, capturing the dimensions using conventional methods is very time-consuming and not particularly accurate. We scan such items in 3D with an accuracy of 0.05 mm. For special requirements, an accuracy of up to 0.01 mm can also be achieved. To ensure that work can be continued quickly at the customer’s premises, we can also carry out reverse engineering on request. With the data supplied by us, our customers can continue their work immediately. We can often complete such work in 1 day (pure scan and 3D data delivery) or even in 2 days (including reverse engineering) if it is particularly urgent.
Reverse engineering industry / mechanical engineering
For a pure 3D scan, we deliver an STL file. This can then be further processed in-house as required. In the vast majority of cases, however, we also carry out reverse engineering on request. Many of our customers do not have the know-how for reverse engineering or their resources are exhausted. In these cases, we are happy to do this for you.
You will then receive a STEP file that can be opened and edited in conventional CAD programs.
Because we carry out the reverse engineering for you, you not only save time, but also conserve your own resources.
Advantages of optical 3D measurement
You don’t just get a 3D scan of an object, but a highly accurate and very precise 3D measurement of the components. We scan with an accuracy of up to 0.01 mm.
If required, the data obtained can be created into precise continuous surfaces using reverse engineering. These can then be further processed for you using standard CAD programs.
One of the most important advantages of today’s 3D scanning technology is that the 3D measurement data is now created with laser scanners using non-contact scanning. Therefore, this method is also suitable for valuable and irreplaceable objects and unique pieces such as artifacts or industrial prototypes, art objects, monuments, as well as all kinds of touch-sensitive objects.
One of the areas of application of optical non-contact 3D measurement with laser scanners is reverse engineering, i.e. a construction process the other way round. In these cases, a data model is obtained from a finished object, such as a defective part of an automobile or an industrially manufactured workpiece. Using the data obtained, such a captured model can then be printed out with a 3D printer and reproduced or reverse engineered very quickly into a CAD file.
A 3D scan in the field of industrial parts and components can be multifaceted. Frequent examples:
Post-production
You have an original part that needs to be reproduced. This may be a technical part of an old machine of which no plans exist any more or of which no plans exist in digital form. Even with classic cars, it often happens that old defective parts can no longer be obtained as spare parts. Mechanical parts of an excavator, tractor or any other machine. In such cases, we can scan the old parts in very high-resolution 3D and provide you with a closed 3D scan, for example, or carry out reverse engineering on request.
Wear and tear
Do you need to determine the wear on a component used in a machine, for example? We scan the component for you in high resolution. The resulting data can be used to create a target/actual comparison, which in our example clearly shows the wear.
Packaging
In order to create secure packaging for an item, the data for it is required. We scan the item in 3D and provide you with the data.
