Do you need a 3D file of an article / object?

Do you come from the toolmaking, automotive or aviation industries, for example, and need CAD models to produce a spare part?

Whatever the purpose, we have various ways of achieving the result.
With our 3D scanners, we can scan items without having to touch them. This is possible with almost all materials, with the exception of very shiny materials and glass. In such cases, it is possible to treat the items with a special spray for 3D scanning, which evaporates by itself without leaving any residue. If this is not desired, there are other options, see below.

For 3D scanning, we use the latest and most accurate scanners available on the market. We achieve an accuracy of up to 0.05 mm. Depending on your requirements, the scans are of course processed by us.

If the 3D scans are required to produce spare parts, reverse engineering can be carried out. This involves converting the 3D scan ( STL ) of a component into a CAD format ( STEP ). This is called reverse engineering. With the data then available, a component can be reproduced easily and with high precision, often even simply printed with a 3D printer. Nowadays, this is possible with all conceivable materials, including metal.

Another area is the better understanding of functions for components and articles of all kinds. For example, it is also possible to provide the 3D scans with an animation to explain functions etc. This is unprecedented, especially on the Internet, as the customer holds and controls the article with the mouse. For example, the individual components of an article can be displayed in such a way that the article opens when it is turned, or whatever you would like.

Photogrammetry

In certain cases, a 3D scan is not recommended due to the effort involved or the result. In such cases, we use photogrammetry methods, for example, to achieve the result. Photogrammetry involves taking a large number of high-resolution photos, which are then used to calculate the 3D model. Of course, this model is also provided with textures in the same way as the 3D scan.

3D modeling

Under certain circumstances, it makes sense to have objects modeled instead of using 3D scanning or photogrammetry methods in order to achieve the best possible result. We also offer solutions for this. However, this process is only suitable for viewing and explaining products.
