Project Description

As part of this project, a technical component was digitized using a high-resolution 3D scan and then subjected to a precise 3D measurement. The aim was a detailed target/actual comparisonto reliably identify deviations between the manufactured component and the original CAD data.

A deviation analysis (color mismatch comparison) was carried out on the basis of the recorded scan data. Dimensional deviations are displayed visually in the form of a color gradient: Areas within the tolerance appear neutral, while deviations above or below the tolerance are clearly highlighted in color. This method enables a quick and intuitive assessment of the production quality – even with complex geometries.

The combination of 3D measurement technology, digital component inspection and visual analysis offers decisive advantages for industrial companies:

  • Early detection of production deviations
  • Ensuring dimensional accuracy and function
  • Optimization of production processes
  • Documentation for quality assurance and complaint management

The 3D measurement of components is a central component of modern quality assurance, particularly in areas such as mechanical engineering, automotive or series production.

Use the display to understand the deviations in detail and directly experience the significance of a false color comparison in the 3D scan.
