3D scan Mitsubishi ASX bumper (model 2024)

For a current automotive project, we created a high-precision 3D scan of a Mitsubishi ASX bumper (model year 2024). The aim was to completely digitize the complex free-form geometry of the component and provide a reliable data basis for further technical processing.

Bumpers have numerous radii, transitions and functional areas where manual measurement is often inaccurate and time-consuming. The 3D scan enabled all relevant shapes to be captured quickly and in detail.

The data set is ideal for applications such as:

  • Reverse engineering / CAD reconstruction

  • Development of custom-fit add-on parts (e.g. splitters, brackets, diffuser)

  • Quality control & target/actual comparison

  • Prototyping and production (3D printing or CNC)

Digitalization provides an exact basis for design, development and production – efficient, precise and time-saving.

The scan is available in the following 3D viewer for viewing and checking the geometry. This is the unprocessed 3D scan.
