Project Description
3D scan of a machine and system area for digital inventory
For this project, a complex machine and plant area with a dense piping network was digitally recorded in full on site using 3D scanning. The aim was to precisely record a technical system in order to create a reliable data basis for planning, documentation and future adjustments.
The challenge lay in the high geometric complexity: confined spaces, overlapping structures and a large number of cables, components and technical installations had to be captured completely and in detail. Thanks to the use of modern 3D laser scanning technology, the entire environment could be digitized quickly and with millimetre precision as a 3D point cloud.
The data obtained enables a wide range of industrial applications:
- Precise planning basis for conversions and extensions
- Clash detection for new constructions
- Creation of CAD or BIM models from as-built data
- Digital documentation of complex system structures
- Reduction of measurement effort and planning risks on site
The 3D scan of machine rooms and systems is a decisive advantage, especially in existing industrial plants where no current plans are available or conversions are carried out during operation.
Take advantage of the opportunity to explore the captured area interactively and get an accurate picture of the depth of detail and data quality of a professional industrial 3D scan of a professional industrial 3D scan.
