Project Description
3D scan of a rotor piston
For this project, a rotor piston was digitized as a high-precision 3D model. The aim was to precisely capture the complex component geometry, including all functional surfaces, transitions and radii, in order to create a reliable basis for technical evaluation and further processing.
Rotor pistons are among the geometrically demanding components where even the smallest deviations have a direct impact on tightness, running behavior and efficiency. The 3D scan enables a complete and detailed recording of the real geometry – even in the event of wear-related changes.
The prepared 3D model is ideal for reverse engineering, target/actual comparisons, dimensional checks and the reconstruction of spare parts.
Application areas of the scan:
-
Reverse engineering & CAD reconstruction
-
Tolerance check and geometry comparison
-
Wear analysis and documentation
-
Production preparation & spare parts development
The scan is available in the following 3D viewer for viewing and checking the geometry. This is the unprocessed 3D scan.
