Reverse engineering using examples

We often have customers with parts from mechanical engineering or technical products that need to be scanned. The scans then need to be further developed or modified. However, this is not possible with a pure STL 3D scan file. For example, in order to further process or modify a part from mechanical engineering that has been scanned in 3D, it must be reverse engineered. There are different methods for this depending on the application and also depending on the scanned part.

  • Surface modeling (reverse engineering)

  • Parametric modeling

  • Volume modeling

Here we go into more detail about the different procedures:

In the following 3D views, we show you 3D scans of various types that have already been traced. The more complex the geometry of an article, the more complex the respective traceability. If you commission us to perform a traceability, please let us know which software you would like to use to further process the traced article.

Let us know what we can do for you. Further information can also be found on our contact page.

3D scan service without texture
We scan 3D with an accuracy of 0.05 mm and, if required, up to 0.01 mm.
3D scan service with texture
In addition to the geometry, the textures are also recorded during the 3D scan.
